Aaron's Place: Moving the Connex
Friday, August 23: Cindy and I got up this morning and we rolled up the trailer and got it ready to pull out. We were able to be on the road by about 8:30 AM this morning and we arrived at Aaron's place at about 12:30 PM. We got the trailer set up here at Aaron's, and we are spending part of the day just catching our breath after the rather busy routine that we have been in since we got down to Dad's place. Tomorrow we will hopefully get the contents emptied out of the connex so that we are ready to move all of the stuff over to the Verde, including the connex on Tuesday. Aaron and Hailey made ribs for supper so we enjoyed having that for dinner today. We hope to get some rest tonight and be fresh and ready to move and sort stuff in the morning.
Saturday, August 24:
- Aaron got his boat moved out of the garage bay so that Cindy and I could start emptying out our Connex. Alicia came by and we got a chance to see little Ava. Bowen, Aaron and Tom headed out for some camping around noon. Cindy and I got our stuff moved over to the garage at which time Cindy started doing some sorting of stuff to sort out what we won't be needing. I got my small box trailer moved away from the Connex, and took out the gold prospecting stuff so that Aaron and Bowen can make use of it. With the trailer thinned down, I dug through some clothing bags and sorted out the stuff to keep and the rest will need to be donated or thrown out.
- I got a chance to watch some video training from the fellow that does video on overloading in the outback. He does a great job on his videos and is a pretty fair teacher.
- Cindy, Alicia and Hailey had a girls night, so I got to watch some more videos on traveling in the outback. All in all a pretty decent day.
Sunday, August 25:
- Steps: 10,747
- Cindy and I went into the house this morning and got Alicia and Ava on their way home. Cindy went over to Erica's and got me the info so that I could get the email program on Corey's website functioning. After she got back I got the trailer finished loading and ready to move over to Ben and Missy's house. We ran it over and dropped it off, and picked up the horse trailer and brought it back here so we can load up the rest of our stuff tomorrow and take it over to Camp Verde. Cindy got a couple of loads of laundry done and hung out before we ran the trailer over to Camp Verde. When we got back after dark we took the clothes down from the drying rack on the trailer and brought them inside. I got a chance to take a shower today and then top off the fresh water tank on the trailer.
Monday, August 26:
- Cindy made breakfast for all of us, which included Aaron, myself and Tom plus Cindy.
- We loaded up the horse trailer with all of our stuff from the Connex. Spent a little bit of time visiting with Aaron prior to running down to Costco where we stopped for some basic items. Then on to Ben's place to drop off the trailer, then have to get back to Aaron's and get things ready to move our house over to Joe's place tomorrow morning.
