2023 Escapees Boomerville: A Community of Connection, Fun, and Delicious Traditions

So our next stop in Quartzsite for this year took us out to Plamosa Road, which is a 14 day stay limit BLM area. This was our 2nd time going to Boomerville since we started our full-time rving. The Boomers are a Bird Of Feather group (BOF) within the Escapees. RV Club. It’s a group that gets together in the Quartzsite area every January to enjoy a community of like minded RVers that enjoy Boondocking (some may know this as dry camping) as a group. The gathering is very laid back with no preplanned Itinerary except for an auction for the C.A.R.E organization. If a person has an activity that they think others may enjoy that person puts it in the book with the day and time that they would like to do it. Anyone that would like to attend then just shows up at the appointed time to take part in the activity. There is a happy hour daily in the afternoon where everyone gets together with the beverage of their choice for visiting time plus getting announcements for the following day as well as long range. The get together of Boomerville is generally around 10 days in length.

Because this is a boondocking event a person finds the spot in the desert that is in the event area that they would like to park their rig and they do so. Old friends tend to park together, but if a person is outgoing you can find new life long friends at events like this. With the time of year that this event happens, the winter storms give awesome colored sunrises and sunsets. However to capture these phenomenal sites a person will need to be outdoors. This time of year can bring rain and clouds, however the biggest item is the wind. The wind can howl on the desert, we have personally ridden through wind storms of 70 plus MPH. These level of winds can kick up loads of dust, and rock your rig fairly hard. This year was no exception with the weather, which lent itself to getting some excellent shots and video of the majestically colored sunrises, and sunsets. During this years festivities there were a few different days in which there was a pancake breakfast, open to everyone with a small fee which I believe was also a money raising event for C.A.R.E. The best part of these events is the opportunity to be part of the bigger RVing community. Getting to park close to large saguaro cactus is just another plus of being on the desert.

During Boomerville there is another Escapees event that take place just outside of camp. Party On Plamosa is another afternoon get together that is open to any and all people in the area. Just show up and you are in like Flynn. This event has music, food and beverages, and comraderie. It lasts the afternoon, and the Escapees typically have a RV Vendor on site with a couple of different models to check out. If you want an afternoon of fun in Quartzsite this is a good event to be at.

Escapees Boomerville is a unique social gathering and temporary community created by members of the Escapees RV Club, offering a wide variety of activities designed to foster connection, relaxation, and fun for RVers. Whether you are a full-time traveler or a seasonal adventurer, Boomerville offers an enriching experience filled with camaraderie and enjoyment.

One of the highlights of Boomerville is its communal events, where friendships are built over shared meals and activities. Potlucks are a staple, with attendees bringing their favorite dishes to share. These gatherings provide a perfect opportunity to enjoy diverse flavors while connecting with fellow RV enthusiasts. The spirit of generosity and community makes every potluck memorable.

A beloved morning tradition at Boomerville is the pancake breakfast. Volunteers flip stacks of delicious pancakes served with syrup, butter, and a side of conversation. Starting the day with a hearty breakfast and good company sets a positive tone for the adventures ahead.

Daily activities abound at Boomerville, with something for everyone. Educational seminars and workshops on RV living and travel tips provide valuable knowledge. Fitness enthusiasts can join group walks, yoga sessions, or other outdoor exercises. Game nights, campfires, and talent shows bring laughter and entertainment to the evenings, ensuring there’s never a dull moment.

Boomerville’s schedule is flexible and welcoming, encouraging everyone to participate as much or as little as they choose. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned Escapee, the warmth and fellowship of Boomerville create unforgettable memories and a sense of belonging in the RVing community.
