From Quartzsite to Full-Time RVing: A Journey of Transition and Adventure

Introduction:

Embarking on a journey of full-time RVing is a monumental decision, marked by moments of excitement, anticipation, and the bittersweet process of letting go of the familiar. Our transition from Quartzsite and the Big Tent show to selling our house and embracing the nomadic lifestyle was filled with memorable experiences and heartfelt farewells.

Quartzsite RV Show and the Grand Design RL2970:

The Quartzsite RV show served as the starting point of our adventure, where we found our perfect companion on the road – the Grand Design RL2970. Amidst the bustling atmosphere of the show, we discovered the ideal vehicle to carry us through the upcoming chapters of exploration and discovery.

Preparing to Sell: Snowstorms and Family Bonding

Returning to Chino Valley, we found ourselves amidst a flurry of activity, both literal and metaphorical. A significant snowstorm blanketed the landscape, enveloping us in a winter wonderland and providing moments of joy as we watched our grandson, Bowen, revel in the snow. Amidst the preparations for selling our house, we cherished family time, including Tyce's first snowboarding adventure and bonding moments with our son Aaron.

Adventures in Sedona and Lees Ferry:

As we navigated the process of downsizing and preparing for life on the road, we seized opportunities to explore the beauty of Arizona. From wiring houses in Sedona to escaping to Lees Ferry with friends, each moment was a testament to the richness of experiences that awaited us. Snowfall in March added a touch of magic to our time at Lees Ferry, where we marveled at the preparations for rafting expeditions and the majestic presence of condors at the historic Navajo Bridge.

Exploring Natural Wonders:

Our journey took us to iconic destinations, such as Horseshoe Bend, where we stood in awe of nature's grandeur. Witnessing swift water rescue training on the Colorado River provided insight into the dedication and skill required for such endeavors. At Lees Ferry, we delved into history, exploring the RV park, historic cemetery, and museum that encapsulated the spirit of the area.

Family Milestones and New Beginnings:

Amidst the whirlwind of preparations, we celebrated cherished moments with family, from attending Teagan's 8th-grade promotion to Maylyn's birthday party. These milestones served as reminders of the bonds that anchor us, even as we embarked on a new chapter of our lives. Finally, on June 1st, 2021, with a mixture of excitement and nostalgia, we bid farewell to Aaron's in Chino Valley and set our sights on Homolovi State Park, ready to embrace the adventures that lay ahead.

Conclusion:

Our journey from Quartzsite to full-time RVing is a testament to the transformative power of embracing change and pursuing our passions. Through snowstorms and family gatherings, adventures in nature, and cherished milestones, we forged a path that reflects the essence of living life to the fullest. As we navigate the open road, we carry with us the memories of where we've been and the anticipation of what lies ahead, embracing each moment with gratitude and enthusiasm.
